1970 Dodge Challenger: Dodge took some heat for being late to the pony-car dance, but when it did arrive in 1970, it made quite an entrance. The Challenger was aptly named. A wide variety of performance options meant you could spec one out to take on pretty much anything from chevy or Ford. Drag racers and stoplight warriors could opt for a 426 or 440 big block R/T but one of the most interesting was the road-racing-inspired T/A model equipped with the 340 small-block, a deep breathing six- pak carb setup, the T/A also included a corner carving suspension, a factory side pipe exhaust and racy graphics straight off it Trans Am racecars.

1971 Dodge Challenger: The second Dodge was only the second time Dodge was chosen for the Indy pace Car. Unfortunately, the car is often remembered more for being the only pace vehicle ever to be involved in a wreck. A local indy Dodge dealer entered the pit lane a little too fast for the not-so-hot stock brakes, overshot his mark and careened into the photographers’ stand.
