1967 Plymouth GTX The ’67 model year could be considered the last for early Mopar muscle, but it was also the best. Plymoujth introduced. The GTX a luxury sport flagship to the Belvedere line. The GTX prominent angular body lines disappeared for ’68 even as the bare-bones Road Runner took center stage. But for ’67 the GTX was the star, offered in hardtop or convertible.

1964-65 Plymouth Belvedere Plymouth was door handle deep in the Super Stock wars by 1965, and its weapon of choice was the midsize Belvadere. All Belveders sported new front-end sheet metal reminiscent of the flagship Fury for ’65, but the most notable cars were known by their 500-plus horse race Hemis. The result was explosive, and pros such as Bill “Grumpy” Jenkins cleaned up in S/SA and B. These cars looked like grocery-getters, but they could bust out 10 second quarters.
